Description

A pretty Austro-Hungarian brooch in solid silver hand cut into an openwork scrolling foliate design with lovely vivid blue turquoise cabochons which have lost none of their intensity.

Fixes with a simple C clasp. The brooch is not hallmarked, which is not unusual for these types of items, and it tests as sterling silver.

The piece is in good antique condition, one of the original turquoises has been replaced, possibly with a glass cabochon; under strong magnification tiny scraps of enamel are visible and it may be that the front was once enamelled all over. We have not overpolished but you could take the silver to a higher shine if that's your preference.
