This Regency cream jug is an antique Georgian sterling silver object hallmarked in London in 1829, featuring a bulbous body with a fluted lower half and scalloped edging. The piece has a polished silver finish with reflective surfaces, a distinct gadrooned rim edge running along the top opening and pouring spout, an ornate cast scroll handle attached to the right side, and four small paw feet supporting the base. Inside the bowl, faint fluting patterns radiate outward toward the rim, and stamped maker marks are visible near the inner lip. The item stands with a height of 9 cm and a width of 10 cm, offering a compact proportion suitable for traditional table service. In a modern home, this piece functions well displayed on a sideboard top or used on a dining table for serving cream during afternoon tea.

Georgian silver from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries is known for symmetrical forms, refined proportions, and detailed metalwork such as gadrooning, lobing, and cast handles.

Sourced from sterling silver containing 92.5 percent pure silver, these items were formed by hammering sheets of metal over shaped anvils and adding cast components like handles and feet.

Authentic British silver bears a set of officially stamped hallmarks, including the monarchs profile duty mark, the lion passant for sterling quality, an assay office symbol, a makers mark, and a specific date letter.

Small silver hollowware items can be incorporated into contemporary settings by styling them on a wooden sideboard, curated bar cart, or dining table alongside ceramics and glassware.

Clean gently with a soft cloth and specialist silver polish to remove tarnish, avoiding abrasive scrubbers or washing in dishwashers, and store in a dry location wrapped in acid-free tissue.
