Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Victorian scent bottles are characterised by intricate craftsmanship, often combining blown or moulded glass with precious metals such as sterling silver, frequently featuring floral enamelling or cut-glass facets.

These vessels typically incorporated hand-blown coloured glass, flashed glass, or opaline glass, complemented by sterling silver screw caps or hinged lids, and sometimes gilded or enamelled surface decoration.

Authenticity is generally verified through clear British hallmarks stamped on the silver mount, indicating the assay office, standard mark, and date letter, alongside period-appropriate manufacturing techniques like pontil marks.

These compact decorative pieces work well displayed in groups on mirrored trays, dressing tables, or mantelpieces, adding a touch of historical texture and colour to modern display spaces.

Preservation requires gentle dusting with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners on the enamel and glass, and using specialised non-abrasive polishes cautiously only on the silver mounts if necessary.
