Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Scottish art glass posy vase originates from the Art Deco period of the 1930s. The piece takes a squat, wide-rimmed profile with a mushroom shape and a central circular opening, rendered in clear glass with mottled purple and green casing and glittering gold aventurine inclusions spread throughout the body. The smooth, glossy finish catches the light across its shallow, expansive flange. Practical dimensions measure 6.5 cm high by 14 cm wide and 14 cm deep, making it an ideal decorative accent for a sideboard top in a living room, hallway or dining space. Position this glass vessel on a polished wooden surface to showcase its vibrant colours and sparkling internal decoration. It works well as a standalone decorative object or holding a small cluster of fresh stems. The sturdy base ensures it sits securely on flat surfaces, while the compact scale allows it to fit neatly amongst other ornaments or serve as a striking focal point.

Monart glass was produced in Perth, Scotland, from the 1920s onwards by John Moncrieff Ltd, directed by Salvador Ysart and Isobel Moncrieff. The range is recognised for its vibrant colour combinations, mottled cased glass techniques, and inclusion of metallic flakes such as aventurine.

Aventurine glass is created by introducing copper flakes or metallic oxides into the molten glass mix during hand-blowing. As the glass is shaped and cased in clear or tinted layers, the metallic elements suspend within the matrix to create a sparkling visual effect.

Authentic Monart pieces typically feature characteristic colour combinations, polished pontil marks on the base, and specific shape profiles documented in original pattern catalogues. While paper labels were originally applied, many have worn away over time, leaving form, weight, and glass quality as primary indicators.

Position the vase near natural light sources, such as on a deep window sill or console table, to illuminate the internal metallic inclusions and cased colours. It can be displayed independently as a decorative object or used to hold short floral stems.

Clean art glass by hand using lukewarm water and a small amount of mild liquid detergent, using a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid hot water, chemical cleaners, and dishwashers, which can cause thermal shock or cloud the glass surface.
