In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Wash pieces by hand using lukewarm water and a mild detergent, avoiding abrasive sponges, ultrasonic cleaners, and sudden temperature changes to protect the fragile antique material.

Display these pieces on open shelving or within a glass-fronted cabinet where natural light can highlight their translucent qualities and distinctive colour.

Authentic pieces from the Victorian era typically exhibit characteristic mould seams, pontil marks on the base, surface wear consistent with age, and a distinct bright green fluorescence when exposed to a 395nm UV blacklight.

These items were typically produced using lime glass or lead crystal mixed with mineral colourants, shaped by hand-blowing into moulds or free-blowing with applied stems and feet.

Vaseline glass, popular during the 19th century, contains small amounts of uranium dioxide as a colouring agent, which causes the glass to emit a vibrant green glow under ultraviolet light.
