William IV glassware, spanning roughly the 1830s, bridges the transition from late Georgian refinement to early Victorian exuberance, often featuring robust forms, heavy lead crystal, and bold vertical fluting or ribbing.

These pieces were typically mouth-blown using lead glass or flint glass, shaped by hand with applied handles, and finished with polished pontil marks on the base.

Authentic pieces often display minor surface irregularities, tiny air bubbles trapped within the metal, a deep ring when tapped, and characteristic wear or a rough pontil scar on the underside.

This piece can be used functionally as a water or wine pitcher on a dining table, or displayed purely as a decorative object on a sideboard or open shelving to catch natural light.

Wash by hand using lukewarm water and mild detergent, avoiding harsh abrasives and sudden temperature changes to prevent thermal shock and preserve the historic surface finish.
