Victorian enamelled glass gained popularity during the 19th century, influenced by revival styles, Bohemian glassmaking traditions, and an increasing middle-class demand for decorative dining accessories.

These sets were typically crafted from lead or lime glass, often hand-blown and shaped. Decoration involved the application of vitreous enamels and sometimes gilding, which were fired to bond the colours permanently to the glass surface.

Authentic pieces often exhibit characteristic features such as hand-blown pontil marks on the base, minor irregularities or air bubbles in the glass structure, and hand-painted enamel details that show light surface wear consistent with age.

An antique liqueur set can be displayed on a sideboard, drinks trolley, or open shelving to introduce tactile texture, historical interest, and a refined reflective surface to a modern living or dining space.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in warm water with mild detergent, avoiding harsh abrasives or soaking, to protect fragile enamelled and gilded decorations from damage.
