Latticino is a traditional Italian glassmaking technique developed on the island of Murano in the 16th century, involving fine white glass threads embedded within clear glass.

These pieces are hand-blown from soda-lime glass, utilizing specialised cane-working methods to create intricate optical twist patterns and filigree designs.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit pontil marks on the base, minor irregularities consistent with hand-blowing, and specific historical decorative motifs characteristic of prominent Venetian workshops.

Displaying historic glassware within a glass-fronted cabinet or on a sideboard allows light to pass through the intricate glass threads, highlighting the craftsmanship.

Antique glass should be washed strictly by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and abrasive materials.
