An antique Georgian glass cordial is a small drinking vessel produced during the reigns of Kings George I to IV, specifically designed for serving concentrated liqueurs, spirits, or medicinal tonics.

These glasses were traditionally hand-blown using lead metal or potash glass compositions, often characterised by heavy kick-up bases, folded feet, and distinctive inclusions or tool marks from the period.

Authentic pieces from the 1740s typically display genuine surface wear, pontil marks on the underside of the folded foot, characteristic metal weight, and micro-bubbles trapped within the hand-blown glass body.

Antique stemware can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, on open shelving with adequate backlighting, or arranged on sideboards to highlight the clarity and craftsmanship of historical glass.

Antique glass should be washed strictly by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes, and dried carefully with a lint-free linen cloth to protect the delicate historical surface.
