Rare French Sterling Silver 1742 Coin Wine Taster C1880 Barware

Description

A rare French solid sterling silver wine taster. It is hallmarked with the French 950 Minerva head mark with a makers mark. I would date to c1880. It has been superbly made having a rare 1742 coin to its centre with the handle being cast in the form of a snake like creature. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It is nice and clean inside. It measures approx. 4.5 inches (11.4cm) wide including the handle and 3.5 inches (8.7cm) excluding it by 1 inch (2.6cm) tall and weighs 96 grams. A very well made rare piece.
