Victorian Silver Christening Cup

£140    $184    €166
A good example of an early Victorian Sterling Silver Christening cup. It stands on a round foot with an elegant scrolling handle and it is beautifully decorated with a swirling floral repousse design around a central cartouche. This is faintly engraved with initials and 'from his Uncle'. It is stylish and good quality and it weighs approximately 126g.

It is hallmarked for John Bell & Frederick Brasted, London, 1860. The hallmark is slightly worn but still readable.

It is in good condition for its age. There are some faint surface marks, some minor dinks and small dents but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
