Antique glassware requires gentle hand washing in lukewarm water with mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes, and keeping items away from direct sunlight to preserve the structural integrity of the historical material.

Antique glass can be displayed within illuminated cabinets, utilised as tabletop accent pieces on sideboards, or incorporated into curated tablescapes to introduce historic texture and vibrant colour contrast.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the base, irregular thickness, tiny air bubbles trapped within the glass matrix, and surface wear consistent with age and hand-craftsmanship.

These items are typically crafted from potash or lead glass, often containing natural mineral impurities and metal oxides that produced deep colourations such as emerald green, and shaped using traditional free-blown and tool-formed methods.

Georgian glassware spans the periods of the Hanoverian monarchs from 1714 to 1830, characterised by hand-blown techniques, lead glass composition, and distinct functional forms tailored for tavern and dining use.
