Coffer Magnificent Chest Blanket Box Oak Dated 1718

Here we have the most wonderful and magnificent early 18th century Oak coffer or chest dated 1718. As you can see the chest has quite stunning colour and patina. There is almost a domed top with angled planks and moulded decoration. There is an original embossed metalwork cartouche to the lid. Internally there is a large space and original strap hinges and an original and stunning late 17th century Iron working lock and key. The sides are panelled and the front exquisitely carved and dated to the arcaded panels 1718. Probably Spanish in origin and a truly wonderful statement piece which sits on a high decorative plinth base. Offered in fine retail condition and ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 127 cm wide 65 cm deep 89 cm high.
