Very Large Bookcase & Cupboards by Gillow & Co. C.1880

Description

Lots of useful storage space inside this very impressively proportioned walnut bookcase cabinet by the celebrated English cabinet makers Gillow & Co, c.1880. Standing eight feet six inches tall with open bookshelves at the centre and a two door cabinet above, flanked on both sides with tall cupboards fitted with shelves inside (internal depth 14?). The base has a two door centre cupboard with single door cupboards to each side. As one would expect from Gillows the cabinet making is of exceptional quality, in solid walnut including the sides, tops and backs of each piece. Raised panels with crisply carved floral and leaf pattern decoration, extensive moulding across the front and sides, original brass handles and hinges. Stamped Gillow & Co. together with the serial number 9406 on the top of one of the doors in the base. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.

Splits into six pieces plus cornice and plinth for delivery.
