Athey Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The flared cornice with Greek Key detail over two panelled doors with decorative brass escutcheons opening to interior fitted with five pull out sliding trays, the base with two short and two long drawers, all with original brass handles standing on bracket feet.
With normal marks / scuffs, shrinkage splits to the sides and a few old ( long dead ) worm holes to the back only, overall this handsome press is in good solid condition, it has a wonderful colour and patina and really is a lovely quality piece.
