Victorian Children's Silver Spoon and Fork

Description

This is a substantial solid pair of children’s cutlery.

Perfect present from god-parent or grandparent…

The combined weight is circa 71gms

Manufactured in 1850

Hallmarked ; Martin Bros &Co

Clearly hall marked on both the fork and spoon, slight rubbing

Overal length circa 16cm

The decoration on both items is quite stunning and reflective of the Martin Brothers upbringing.

Brothers John and Richard were born in london.

Sons of Richard who was a Jeweller and silversmith Falcon court, Fleet Street.

In 1849 the brothers formed a partnership with james Naylor, a Sheffield cutlery manufacturer.

The firm then became known as Martin Bros &Naylor.

They split in 1853 and the firm became part of Martin Hall
