Here we have a wonderful Victorian miniature Walnut chest of drawers c1840. As you can see the chest has fantastic colour and patina. The chest is likely to be a sales mans sample given that it has all the bells and whistles one could expect from a chest of drawers of the period. The chest is probably Scottish by design. There is a gallery back to the top and a chequrered inlay and Tulip wood band to a figured Walnut background. The top has a thumb moulded edge and a concave moulding beneath showing both options. There are stunning barley sugar twist columns to the side and five drawers. The top drawer is a slim secret cushion drawer. The next is made to look like three small drawers but is in fact a single drawer withn chequered dart inlay to the edge and burr Walnut centre. The other three drawers are of Wavy black Walnut.
