The Arts and Crafts movement emphasised handcraftsmanship, simple forms, and traditional decorative motifs, often rejecting mass production in favour of artistic integrity.

Cruet sets from this era were typically manufactured from sterling silver, frequently paired with fitted liners made from cobalt blue glass.

Authenticity is verified by examining official hallmarks for the assay office, date letter, makers mark, and sterling standard, alongside checking the quality of hand-chased ornamentation.

Such pieces can be displayed as functional dining table centrepieces or curated accents on open shelving to introduce historical character and metallic texture to contemporary spaces.

Silver should be cleaned gently using a non-abrasive specialist silver polish and a soft cloth, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage patination and remove desirable highlights.
