A superb antique 9ct gold cameo brooch dating from the late Victorian period. A fine white Greek style carving is set over a taupe brown shell surrounded by a plain gold frame. Cameos have been known to date back over 5000 years and were made very popular as souvenirs from Italy in the Georgian and Victorian periods. A part of our antique brooch collection.
