Edwardian Sapphire Diamond Pendant/brooch

1900 - 1920
Description

A rare, fine quality gold and silver antique brooch.

A special piece displaying great workmanship and great emphasis on the finished detail. The silver and gilt brooch is filled with old european cut diamonds in a setting made up of intricate flowers, bows, loops and wreaths. Adding to this is the combination of bazel and claw settings that have been incorporated to display the diamonds at their best and add interest to the overall design.

The vivid blue sapphires are a magnificent contrast to the diamonds. Set in to yellow gold, a beautiful contrast that subtley highlights their rich blue colour.

Gold pin on reverse and loop to accommodate a chain so brooch can be worn around the neck as a pendant.

A very special high quality piece.
