Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery from the 1930s often blends clean geometric forms with softer fluid or foliate elements, marking a transition towards the Retro era. Platinum settings and high-grade coloured gemstones were frequently combined with sparkling diamonds to create bold, light-reflecting structural designs.

High-end 1930s brooches were predominantly crafted using platinum or white gold to provide a strength-to-weight ratio that allowed for intricate wirework and secure claw settings. High-clarity diamonds and natural coloured gemstones like sapphires, rubies, and emeralds were central features.

Authentic period pieces usually exhibit specific hallmarks indicating metal purity, maker marks, or national assay stamps. Additionally, hand-cut gemstones, fine millgrain edges, geometric pierced lattice work, and specialized pin closures like safety catches are characteristic of the decade.

An antique brooch can be styled as a lapel accent on a tailored blazer, fastened at the neckline of a collared shirt, or used to secure a silk scarf. It can also be pinned to a velvet ribbon to wear as a choker necklace or attached to a handbag for a touch of classic ornamentation.

Clean platinum and sapphire jewellery using warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust and oil from beneath the stone settings. Store the piece individually in a lined box or soft pouch to prevent diamonds from scratching other items.
