Technical Description
 
A truly superb 19th century peacock blue wine glass. It has a ribbed ogee bowl above a large shoulder blade and ball knop stem. Conical foot with polished pontil. Peaock Blue is one of the rarest of the colours produced in the 1st half of the 19th century.

Excellent, age-related wear as shown.

Comments
 
The ribbed design can be seen in a number of different Richardson designs from this period as well as finger bowls and serving bottles, however, wine glasses in this form and are exceptionally rare and outside a set we sold a few years back we were unable to find any documented examples in our library or online. We have three different examples from the same collection, in three different colours of various sizes.
