Technical Description
A superb 18th-century masonic firing glass. It has a round funnel bowl with a band of stars engraved around the rim. It also has an engraved bible, sun, moon, set square and compase. The sun and moon having polished detailing. Thick plain stem above a thick firing foot.
The name firing foot comes from the old story that after a toast the glass would be slammed on the table...which sounded like a musket being fired. Whether thats true or not is lost in history but certainly not something we recommend.
