The quaich is a traditional Scottish drinking vessel, typically featuring two or more handles, historically used for sharing a welcoming cup of whisky or ale.

Edwardian silver items were commonly produced using sterling silver, combining traditional hand-raising, spinning, and soldering methods with early industrial stamping.

Authenticity is verified by examining official assay office hallmarks, makers marks, and date letters stamped into the metal, alongside checking for period-appropriate wear and construction.

A historic silver vessel can be styled on a sideboard, coffee table, or open shelving as a reflective metallic accent that contrasts with organic textures and modern finishes.

Antique silver should be cleaned infrequently using a non-abrasive silver cloth or specialised polish, avoiding harsh chemical dips, and stored in a dry environment to prevent tarnishing.
