Georgian jewellery encompasses pieces made between 1714 and 1837, frequently characterised by handcrafted settings, closed-back foils to enhance stone colour, and prominent use of clusters and repousse work.

Traditional construction typically involved high-carat gold or silver-topped gold, combined with natural gemstones such as amethysts, garnets, and seed pearls set in bezel or collet configurations.

Authentic period pieces display hand-cut gemstones, irregular tool marks from manual fabrication, closed backs on older stones, and specific assay hallmarks denoting metal purity and origin.

A vintage ring functions well as a standalone statement piece or paired with minimalist contemporary bands to create an eclectic, textured ring stack.

Pearls require gentle cleaning with a soft, damp cloth and should be kept away from harsh chemicals, cosmetics, and ultrasonic cleaners, while amethysts should be protected from prolonged direct sunlight.
