This Regency circular porcelain cabinet plate is made from white porcelain embellished with gold leaf and pink glaze. The broad border displays repeating oval cartouches containing stylised gilt anthemion motifs alongside detailed gilded decoration, while the inner border exhibits a wide band of salmon-pink ground with elaborate gold vermicelli scrollwork. A central white well holds a polychrome heraldic crest depicting a hand holding a spear above a red and white striped bar, accompanied by an impressed factory mark showing the letters BFB beneath a crown and a printed mark detailing the London Coventry Street address. Minor surface wear appears on the gilding in keeping with age and use. Suitable for display on a sideboard top, this piece functions as a decorative accessory in a traditional dining room or living space. Collectors of Regency ceramics or historic British porcelain can place the plate on stands or cabinets to showcase the armorial design and gilding.

The Barr, Flight & Barr period of the Worcester porcelain factory spans from 1804 to 1813. During this Regency era, the manufacturer produced high-grade porcelain featuring elaborate hand gilding, classical motifs, and custom heraldic commissions for prominent clientele.

Pieces were made using soft-paste or bone porcelain bodies, decorated with hand-painted enamel colours and burnt-gold gilding. Intricate patterns were applied by skilled artisans using fine brushes before undergoing multiple furnace firings.

Authentic pieces from this period frequently feature impressed marks such as BFB beneath a royal crown on the underside, or printed script marks referencing Barr, Flight & Barr. The high weight, translucent body, and precise gilding also distinguish genuine items.

Armorial plates can be displayed vertically on acrylic or brass plate stands on a sideboard, mounted within a framed wall display, or arranged inside a glazed cabinet to add historical context to modern living spaces.

Clean gently by hand using warm water and a small amount of mild liquid detergent, avoiding soaking. Never use abrasive sponges, chemical cleaners, or automated dishwashers, as these will wear away the soft gilding and hand-painted enamel.
