This sterling silver quaich follows the Arts and Crafts style, exhibiting a silver colour with a planished finish and a polished sheen. The shallow bowl features a lobed rim and two flat geometric handles with cutout details, alongside a hammered surface texture and hallmarks on the interior wall. It measures 14.5 cm across including the handles. Suitable for placement on a sideboard top in a dining room or living space, the bowl functions well as a decorative display piece or a container for small trinkets. The solid silver construction provides a heavy feel in the hand, while the traditional Scottish design suits modern domestic interiors seeking period character.

A quaich is a traditional Scottish shallow drinking vessel featuring two flat, horizontal handles, historically used for offering a welcoming drink of whisky or spirits.

Planished silver quaichs are hand-hammered using specialized tools, creating subtle faceted indentations across the surface to reflect light and demonstrate artisan metalwork techniques.

Authentication relies on examining official British hallmarks, makers marks, date letters, and silver purity marks such as the lion passant.

A silver quaich serves as a decorative accent on sideboard tops, mantelpieces, or tray arrangements in drinks cabinets to add metallic texture.

Clean gently using a soft silver polishing cloth or mild soapy water, avoiding abrasive chemicals that can wear down planished textures or official hallmarks.
