Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silver typically draws inspiration from earlier periods such as the Louis XV and Georgian eras, featuring lighter, more fluid ornamentation, floral motifs, and asymmetrical scrolls compared to the heavy styles of the late Victorian period.

These pieces were typically manufactured from sterling silver sheets stamped or pressed with decorative motifs, weighted with plaster or resin cores for stability, and fitted with wooden or velvet-covered backings featuring hinged struts.

Authenticity is verified by locating British hallmark stamps indicating the sterling standard, the assay office city, and a date letter corresponding to the early 20th century, alongside appropriate signs of age-related tarnishing and minor surface wear.

An antique silver frame provides a reflective metallic accent that contrasts effectively against matte painted walls, dark wooden surfaces, or modern minimalist display shelves, bridging historic craftsmanship with clean-lined contemporary decor.

Silver items should be cleaned sparingly using a specialized, non-abrasive silver cloth to preserve the underlying details and desirable patination, avoiding harsh liquid dips that can strip away original highlights.
