Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Victorian scent bottles typically feature hand-blown glass bodies encased or fitted with hallmarked sterling silver collars and lids, often ornamented with repousse or chased floral and scroll motifs.

These pieces combine high-quality artisanal glass, such as Venetian art glass or coloured crystal, with solid sterling silver components manufactured by silversmiths.

Authenticity is primarily verified through clear silver hallmarks stamped on the metal mounts, indicating the assay office, standard of silver, and date letter corresponding to the late 19th century.

Display the bottle on a mirrored dressing tray, a marble vanity surface, or atop a stack of vintage books to highlight its reflective qualities and colour.

Clean the glass gently with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals on the antique glass. Polish the silver mounts sparingly with a dedicated microfibre cloth to prevent wear on the fine metal details.
