Edwardian silver and glass items, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, frequently feature lighter, more delicate ornamentation than heavy Victorian pieces, often drawing inspiration from neoclassical and art nouveau motifs.

These pieces typically combine heavy-lead cut or moulded crystal glass reservoirs with hallmarked sterling silver mounts, collars, and hinged or screw-on caps.

Authentic pieces bear legible British hallmarks stamped into the silver, denoting the assay office, standard of silver (such as 925 sterling), and a date letter corresponding to the early 20th century.

They make sophisticated display objects when grouped on a mirrored tray on a dressing table, or placed alongside other glass collectibles to catch the light.

Glass bodies can be washed gently in warm soapy water, while silver mounts require specialist non-abrasive silver polish applied sparingly to avoid removing the hallmark or the metal surface.
