Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Art Deco jewellery is characterised by geometric shapes, stylised natural motifs such as insects and flora, and a strong emphasis on symmetry and bold colour contrasts using enamels and gemstones.

These pieces typically utilised sterling silver or white metals combined with vitreous enamel work, such as plique-a-jour or guilloche, applied to hand-soldered metal frames.

Authentic pieces often feature period hallmarks, traditional c-clasps or safety roll-catches, hand-applied enamel showing natural microscopic crazing, and authentic patination on the reverse.

In fashion, a brooch can be pinned to lapels, scarves, or hats as a focal accessory, while in interior styling, smaller pieces are often mounted in shadow boxes or displayed on speciality trays.

Silver components should be cleaned gently with a specialist polishing cloth, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage fragile vitreous enamel and compromise historical patination.
