Edwardian jewellery, spanning the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by light, airy designs, delicate filigree work, and the frequent use of platinum alongside yellow and rose gold to set precious and semi-precious stones.

Goldsmiths of this era commonly utilised 9-carat and 18-carat rose, yellow, and white gold, often pairing them with natural seed pearls and deep red garnets or other colourful gemstones in low-profile cluster settings.

Authentic pieces typically feature period-appropriate hallmarks indicating metal purity, hand-cut gemstones consistent with early 20th-century lapidary techniques, and construction methods such as bezel or collet settings with fine milgrain detailing.

Antique rings add a touch of historical character to contemporary outfits and can be displayed on a dedicated ring dish or trinket tray on a dressing table when not being worn.

Due to the soft and porous nature of pearls, antique rings should never be submerged in harsh chemical cleaners or ultrasonic baths; instead, clean gently with a soft, damp cloth and store them separately to prevent scratching.
