Edwardian jewellery, spanning the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by light, airy motifs, platinum settings, and intricate filigree work designed to mimic lace and garlands.

These pieces frequently combined yellow or rose gold bands with platinum-topped mountings to showcase diamonds and pearls, reflecting the technological advancements in metalworking of the period.

Authentic pieces often feature old European cut diamonds, hand-carved details, specific period hallmarks, and construction techniques typical of early twentieth-century goldsmithing.

An antique ring can be worn as a standalone statement piece or stacked with contemporary minimalist bands to create a textured, layered aesthetic that bridges historic and modern design.

Regular gentle cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush, alongside periodic professional checks of the settings and claws, helps maintain the integrity of historic jewellery.
