Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Georgian period, spanning the reigns of the first four King Georges from 1714 to 1830, is characterised by classical symmetry, restrained ornamentation influenced by Palladianism, and later neoclassical motifs such as swags and fluting.

Georgian teapots are predominantly crafted from sterling silver, adhering to the 925 standard. Construction typically involved hand-raising from a flat sheet of silver, casting spouts and handles separately, and incorporating insulating elements such as wood or ivory spacers on the handle to prevent heat transfer.

Authentic pieces are identified through clear hallmarking stamped directly onto the metal, which includes the makers mark, the lion passant indicating sterling standard, the city assay office mark, and a date letter corresponding to the exact year of manufacture.

A Georgian silver teapot can be incorporated into contemporary spaces by placing it as a focal point on a minimalist sideboard, contrasting its lustrous metallic finish with matte ceramics, natural wood surfaces, or contemporary floral arrangements.

Antique silver should be washed infrequently using warm water and a mild, non-ionic soap, dried immediately with a soft cotton cloth, and polished sparingly with a reputable silver cloth to preserve the historical patina and avoid abrading delicate engravings.
