FAQs

Iron and brass beds gained immense popularity during the Victorian era due to advancements in industrial manufacturing, offering a hygienic and durable alternative to traditional wooden furniture.

These bedframes are typically constructed from cast iron, wrought iron, and brass components, often featuring joined or bolted side rails and decorative metal castings.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit hand-poured iron joints, traditional wedge-lock fixings, minor surface imperfections from hand-finishing, and non-standard sizing compared to modern mattresses.

Pairing a dark metal bed frame with neutral linen bedding, tactile cushions, and minimalist lighting creates a balanced focal point that bridges traditional and modern aesthetics.

Maintenance involves dusting with a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive chemical cleaners, and periodically checking and tightening structural bolts to ensure stability.
