The Art Deco movement, spanning roughly from the 1910s to the 1930s, is characterised by geometric precision, clean lines, and a shift away from the flowing curves of the preceding Edwardian and Art Nouveau eras.

Jewellers of this period frequently utilised platinum, yellow gold, and white gold, often pairing them with diamonds cut in traditional old European or old mine styles.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit hand-crafted settings, characteristic old-cut stones with distinct facets and high crowns, and occasionally hallmark stamps specific to the early twentieth century.

Pairing a historical piece with minimalist modern attire allows the intricate craftsmanship and distinctive cut of the vintage diamond to stand out as a focal point.

Regular professional inspection of the prongs and setting is advised to secure the stone, alongside gentle cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners.
