William IV silver, produced during the 1830s, often bridges late Georgian classical restraint and early Victorian exuberance, frequently featuring bold cast ornamentation and robust proportions.

Cast candlesticks were produced by pouring molten sterling silver into moulds, often in multiple sections, and then soldering, chasing, and finishing the components by hand.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks indicating the makers mark, sterling standard, assay office, and date letter, alongside examining the weight and construction methods.

These pieces add metallic sheen and historical gravitas when styled on surfaces like mantelpieces or dining tables, contrasting effectively against modern minimalist backdrops.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth to preserve the patina, avoiding harsh dips that can strip historical oxidisation.
