This five-piece matching Georgian dressing table set, made in London in 1814 by Jonathan Douglas, comprises sterling silver and clear cut glass containers with fitted silver lids. Each silver lid features an engraved stag crest, and the glass bases display diamond cut patterns with a star design on the base of four pieces. The set includes two rectangular containers measuring 16 cm and 11 cm in length, alongside two round containers measuring 8 cm and 4 cm in diameter, all arranged on a white fabric surface. Today, this collection suits display and storage on a dressing table or bedside table within a traditional bedroom setting to hold small personal items. The clear glass and polished silver finish coordinate easily with classic interior furnishings while maintaining historical character.

A Georgian silver dressing table set, historically termed a toilet service, consists of silver-capped glass or crystal containers created to store powders, unguents, and grooming accessories on a vanity table during the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

These vanity sets were constructed using thick hand-cut glass or lead crystal bases paired with fitted sterling silver lids, which frequently feature engraved family crests, coats of arms, or armorial monograms.

Authentic period pieces bear official British hallmarks stamped on the silver coversincluding makers marks, date letters, town marks, and duty markscomplemented by hand-cut geometric pattern work on the glass body.

Place the glass and silver containers on a bedroom vanity table, marble bathroom counter, or dressing tray to add historical reflection and refined texture to a contemporary interior scheme.

Silver covers should be gently wiped with a silver polishing cloth to reduce oxidisation, while glass bases can be washed separately in warm water using mild detergent, taking care not to submerge hallmarks in harsh cleansers.
