The quaich is a traditional Scottish two-handled drinking vessel that evolved from wooden staves into sophisticated silver forms during the 17th and 18th centuries.

Makers of this movement typically utilised solid sterling silver shaped by hand-hammering, often featuring visible tool marks that celebrated traditional craftsmanship over industrial manufacturing.

Authentic pieces bear legible hallmarks indicating the assay office, date letter, and makers mark, alongside characteristic hand-wrought surfaces and organic motifs.

This piece can be displayed on a sideboard or coffee table as a standalone decorative object or used functionally to hold small trinkets.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly with a non-abrasive silver cloth to maintain its natural patina and stored in a low-humidity environment.
