Victorian jewellery from the 1860s frequently incorporates romantic symbolism, detailed gold work, and colourful gemstone combinations inspired by the Grand Period.

Mid-Victorian rings were commonly crafted using 15ct or 9ct gold, paired with natural gemstones such as chrysoberyl, rubies, diamonds, and pearls.

Authentic pieces often exhibit hand-cut gemstones, closed or open-backed collet settings, hallmark stamps characteristic of the period, and signs of age-related wear.

Antique rings can be worn stacked with modern minimalist bands to create contrast, or featured alone as a statement piece on the hand.

Antique gold and gemstone jewellery should be cleaned gently using a soft microfibre cloth and warm soapy water, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners and chemical dips.
