Nineteenth-century Bohemian glass is characterised by innovative colour palettes, complex layering techniques, and heavily ornate cutting or trailed ornamentation produced in the Bohemia region.

Mounts and caps on antique scent bottles were commonly fabricated from sterling silver, hallmarked silver plate, or occasionally gilt metals, often featuring repousse or chased floral motifs.

Authenticity is determined by examining pontil marks on the glass base, the weight and craftsmanship of the metal mount, and period-specific wear patterns around the neck and stopper.

These compact decorative pieces work well displayed individually on mirrored trays, dressing tables, or mantelpieces to add historical texture and colour to a room.

Preserve the items by keeping them out of direct sunlight, cleaning the glass with a soft dry cloth, and using appropriate non-abrasive polishes cautiously on silver mounts to avoid damaging the surrounding glass.
