This piano stool originates from the Edwardian period and sits within the Victorian and Gothic style. Constructed from ebonised wood with a black finish, the piece features turned legs with carved rings, a reeded apron with horizontal linear mouldings, an H-stretcher support connecting the base, and visible surface scuffs and scratches showing wear. The padded seat is upholstered in light grey fabric with a herringbone pattern. Measuring 48 cm high, 51 cm wide, and 38 cm deep, the stool adjusts in height to 56 cm using knob handles on the side. This item is suited for use at a piano or as a dressing table stool in a bedroom, study, or living space.

An antique piano stool is a specialised seat designed for playing keyboard instruments, typically featuring fixed or adjustable height mechanisms, compact dimensions, and decorative turned or carved timber legs.

These stools are commonly constructed from solid hardwoods such as mahogany, walnut, or ebonised birch, paired with woven upholstery fabrics, horsehair padding, and metal thread adjustments.

Authentic pieces from the Edwardian era often display turned spindles, reeded aprons, stretcher supports, and traditional joinery techniques without modern screws or synthetic adhesives.

An antique piano stool functions as versatile accent seating in an entryway, a dressing table seat in a bedroom, or an occasional footrest beside low lounge furniture.

Dust timber legs using a soft microfibre cloth and apply specialised beeswax sparingly to preserve the dark finish, while vacuuming fabric seats gently with a soft brush attachment.
