The Georgian era spans the reigns of the first four British monarchs named George, characterised by classical proportions, refined craftsmanship, and a progression from heavy walnut to elegant mahogany woods.

Makers predominantly used dense hardwoods like mahogany and oak for the frame, paired with traditional textiles such as wool needlepoint, gros point, or petit point for the upholstery.

Authentication relies on examining timber ageing characteristics, hand-cut joinery methods, traditional upholstery webbing, and period-appropriate tool marks rather than modern mechanical fastenings.

Antique stools function well as versatile accents, serving as extra seating in a living room, an accessory at the foot of a bed, or a functional vanity seat.

Preservation involves keeping items away from direct sunlight and fluctuating humidity to protect the wood and fibres, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and avoiding harsh chemical cleaners.
