The Arts and Crafts movement emphasized handcraftsmanship, traditional techniques, and simple forms that celebrated the work of the individual artisan over mass production.

These pieces were typically handcrafted from sterling silver using techniques such as hammering, planishing, and hand-soldering to create textured, tactile surfaces.

Authentification relies on checking hallmarks for the assay office, date letter, and makers mark, alongside observing characteristic hand-hammered or planished surface textures.

Such pieces can be displayed on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or open shelving to introduce historical texture, metallic sheen, and handcrafted detail into contemporary spaces.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a specialized non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can strip desirable patination.
