We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. Napkin rings became popular dining accessories during the Victorian and Edwardian eras, often utilised in middle and upper-class households to identify individual linen napkins between laundry cycles.

These items are typically crafted from sterling silver using traditional manufacturing methods such as spinning, stamping, and hand-chasing or engraving for decorative motifs.

Authenticity is verified by examining hallmarks, which typically include a makers mark, a standard purity mark such as the lion passant for sterling silver, a town mark indicating the assay office, and a date letter.

They can be integrated into modern table settings alongside minimalist linen and contemporary dinnerware to add historical texture and metallic contrast.

Antique silver should be cleaned periodically using a specialist non-abrasive silver polish and a soft microfibre cloth, and stored in a tarnish-resistant fabric when not in use.
