Mid-18th-century Georgian silver typically features classical proportions, rococo influence with shell and scroll motifs, and high-purity sterling silver fabrication.

These items were fashioned from sterling silver, often hand-hammered, cast, and chased, featuring soldered feet and decorative borders crafted by skilled silversmiths.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks indicating the assay office, makers mark, standard mark (such as the lion passant), and date letter corresponding to the period.

Such pieces can be displayed on sideboards or coffee tables to reflect light, either acting as a base for glassware and decanters or standing alone as a polished focal point.

Preservation involves dusting with a soft cloth, storing in tarnish-resistant environments, and using specialised silver polish sparingly only when necessary to protect the patina.
