Art Deco jewellery, prominent during the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, clean lines, stylised motifs, and a frequent combination of diamonds with vibrant coloured gemstones set in platinum or white gold.

Cluster rings from this era typically featured precious gemstones such as aquamarine, sapphire, or ruby surrounded by old-cut diamonds, mounted in settings crafted from platinum or a combination of yellow gold and platinum.

Authentic pieces often exhibit hand-cut diamonds like old European or single cuts, delicate milgrain detailing along the metal edges, handcrafted settings with subtle signs of wear, and period hallmark stamps appropriate to the metal and country of origin.

An antique cocktail ring serves as a striking focal point and can be worn alone as a statement piece on the hand, or paired with minimalist modern bands to create a balanced, contemporary contrast.

To preserve vintage settings and softer gemstones like aquamarine, clean the piece gently using warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoiding harsh chemical dips or ultrasonic cleaners which can damage antique prongs and stones.
