FAQs

Corinthian column lamps draw inspiration from classical Greek and Roman architecture, featuring ornate acanthus leaf capitals that became particularly popular in neoclassical revival periods during the 19th and 20th centuries.

These pieces typically employ a base metal such as brass or copper that undergoes electroplating with a layer of sterling silver, often finished with weighted bases for stability and hand-chased detailing.

Authentic period pieces often feature makers marks or hallmarks stamped near the base, weighted internal construction, natural tarnish patterns, and heavier physical heft compared to modern reproductions.

They serve as sophisticated focal points when placed on sideboards or desks, contrasting cleanly against minimalist modern surfaces while adding vertical lines and metallic texture.

Use a specialized non-abrasive silver cloth or gentle cream polish sparingly to avoid stripping the thin silver plate, and keep lamps away from direct moisture to prevent accelerated oxidation.
