FAQs

Art Nouveau lighting is characterised by organic motifs, flowing asymmetrical lines inspired by nature, and the depiction of graceful female figures intertwined with floral or aquatic elements.

Maker workshops typically utilised base metals such as Britannia metal or brass, finished with an electroplated silver or gilt coating, combined with organic elements like nautilus shells or opalescent glass shades.

Authentic pieces often feature makers marks, foundry stamps, or registration numbers on the underside, alongside hand-finished metalwork details and natural material variations that modern reproductions lack.

Place the piece on a dark wood sideboard, mantelpiece, or executive desk where its sculptural silhouette and warm illumination can serve as a distinct focal point.

Dust the metal gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and avoid harsh chemical silver dips to preserve the original patina and delicate electroplated finish.
