Art Deco design emerged in the 1920s, characterised by geometric precision, stylised motifs, and vibrant applications of vitreous enamel upon metals like sterling silver.

These items typically feature solid sterling silver foundations combined with guilloche enamel work, where intricate geometric patterns are engine-turned beneath translucent coloured enamel.

Authentic pieces carry clear hallmarks stamped directly into the metal, usually indicating the assay office, silver standard, date letter, and makers mark.

They can be displayed on decorative trays, dressing tables, or within glass cabinets as refined tabletop ornaments that introduce a hint of period colour.

Keep items away from direct sunlight to prevent enamel fading, store them in dry environments, and clean the silver components carefully using non-abrasive cloths without touching the enamel.
